Location and climate

All-Russian Children Center “Ocean” is located near the city of Vladivostok in the Primorsky region. The geographical coordinates of Vladivostok are 132° EL, 43° NL.

The distance to the nearest settlement “Yemar” is 800 meters, to the airport – 42 km, to the railway station – 36 km, the distance to Moscow is 9302 km.

The amazing nature of the Primorsky region unites different species of plants and animals from northern and southern latitudes.

The Center is located between three different natural elements (water-land, water-wood-land, plain-hill-sea) in the monsoon area of the southern latitudes.

The reason for such originality of climate is the persistent struggle of the two principles – The shoreless Pacific Ocean and the great Siberian continent, stretching up to the Arctic Ocean. Cold-resistant and heat-loving plants grow here in the close neighbourhood.

Primorye is the zone of sufficient moistening (500-900 mms annually).

The summer here is remarkable for humidity. However, the Center turns into a huge blossoming garden in this season.

The best months of stay are August and September. This time the average atmospheric temperature varies from +20° to 24°C. The number of sunny days is 200 per year. The duration of sunbathing period is 70-80 days. Average water temperature varies from +18° to +24°C

The fall in Prymorye is a golden season. The weather is sunny and dry in September and October. The fall is characterized by cardinal maple leaves, juicy schizandra clusters, the beauty of lianas and strikes everyone with the wonderful patchwork of light.

This golden period lasts till the mid of November.

The winter in Primorye is shorter than in other regions of the Russian Far East.

Usually it is dry and cold here. In the coldest winter month (January) average atmospheric temperature varies from -12° to -10 °C.

The spring usually comes early.
